How to Improve Your Business Finances

To optimise your finances you will need an experienced specialist.  This is where a Secantor Finance Director comes in.  Our team of part-time experts have a wide commercial experience and will help you master your finances.  We will:

  • Get to know you and your business. This is an essential first step so we can tailor our approach to align with your strategic plans.
  • Create a financial forecast that converts your business plan into numbers.  This tool is essential for every business owner as it give you a target to compare actual performance against and is perfect supporting evidence for funding applications.  Several scenarios can be modelled to show the financial outcome of different levels of business performance or strategic choices.
  • Produce accurate monthly management accounts that match costs with sales to produce a true gross profit margin.  Our FD will interpret the accounts for you and help you make informed strategic decisions based on the results.
  • Carry out detailed financial analysis to identify where you make the most and least profit.  We’ll analyse your gross profit by product, service, customer, sector / industry and region, or any other variable that seems appropriate to your business. We’ll help you use this information to make decisions about where to focus your efforts and money.
  • Manage cashflow pressures. We will implement our simple-to-use cashflow forecasting model so you can see how much cash you will have in future weeks and months. If cash is under pressure we will help you to manage debtors and creditors to maximise your cash.
  • Identify and eliminate waste.  We’ll conduct a thorough review of your costs and recommend ways to cut unnecessary expenditure.
  • Secure investment funding. Whatever your reason for needing additional funds, our team can create a financial model to show your borrowing requirements and your ability to repay. We have contacts with a range of finance providers and we’ll help you weigh up the options and select the best option for your business.
  • Review the effectiveness of your finance function.  Where required we can make improvements to your processes & systems and provide support and training to your team.
  • Help manage your banking relationship to ensure your business gets the very best service.
